Single-Cell Gene Expression Analysis using the Fluidigm Dynamic Arrays

Historically, single-cell gene expression experiments have been difficult and expensive to perform. Recently Fluidigm introduced a new single-cell gene expression protocol that, when used with the BioMark™ Real-Time PCR system, produces inexpensive, easily reproducible, gene expression results from single-cell samples.

The method is ideally suited to moderate- to high-throughput cell-line studies to determine individual cell behavior in what is believed to be a homozygous population. The method is also ideally suited to determine single-cell gene expression levels in everything from circulating tumour cells (CTC’s), embryonic blastocytes, to stem cells.
